Greetings everyone, in the video below I share with you a technique I teach in the grappling phase of Shu ha Ri Do (Phase 3 Green Belt).
This technique requires timing. For example, you cannot simply expect to lift your opponent’s foot off of the ground. A fake to the face or a push will serve to cause your opponent to flinch or lean backwards which shifts weight off of the front foot. Also, chopping the Achilles tendon will ensure that you are able to “snatch” the ankle/foot off of the ground as you will see in the video. Once in the air quickly switch the foot to the other hand and use the free hand to strike your opponent in the stomach or ribs, pushing him while kick sweeping the leg he/she is standing on.
